I would be surprised if the lenders were sweating over seeing their repayments. Even with the revised operating costs there was still minimum $200-250/T margin.
It’s worth remembering this was always the most capital intensive project in the sector. It is currently the only project proven on a large scale. Each addition will be relatively expensive due to the nature of lined, off playa ponds and bores. It would currently look far more attractive if it had half the number of issued shares as originally planned.
It is probably the safest place to currently invest within this new sector but it may not be the best in the long term.
