Parsley Energy billionaire Bryan Sheffield buys into Tamboran
There’s a new name about to join natural gas company Tamboran Resources’ register, and it’s certain to attract some attention.It’s understood US oil and gas entrepreneur Bryan Sheffield - whose company Parsley Energy was acquired in 2020 by his dad Scott’s business Pioneer Natural Resources in an all-scrip deal valuing the company at more than $US4.5 billion - will come on board as a new cornerstone investor in Tamboran.Tamboran Resources managing director Joel Riddle. Sheffield will own 7.5 per cent of Tamboran. It is his first time investing in an ASX-listed stock.The ASX-listed company, which is developing low carbon dioxide natural gas resources in the Beetaloo Sub-basin within the Greater McArthur Basin in the Northern Territory, had secured Sheffield’s support to be a cornerstone investor, before tapping institutional investors on Friday and Monday as part of a $30 million raise.Sheffield is expected to take out $20 million of the raise.

The capital raise was priced at 37¢ per share - a 3.9 per cent discount to its last close price of 38.5¢.
