What else do I need to do in order to participate in the upcoming SPP?
I've done a couple (i haven't used Automic but they all seem the same). Usually you don't have to do much at all. Fill out the form (online or paper) and send it through. If there is more interest than the shares available, then you may end up with a portion of what you asked for.
In my experience, the share price will probably sink to whatever level the purchase price is (hopefully temporarily). I guess some existing shareholders sell a portion of their shares and buy back in with the offer? Not sure.
Some offers can be 'buy x shares, get one free arrangement'. I've seen that with one of my other holdings. That works well.
