it was shaping up to be a quiet day for fund managers on Monday, until Macquarie Capital and Citi came knocking in the evening.
It’s not a pairing we see every day, but Street Talk understands the two investment banking giants joined forces to raise funds for an ASX-listed small-cap industrial company.
The company in question is understood to be conducting the raising to fund an acquisition, rather than to pay down debt or pay for capital expenditure.
MacCap and Citi were assessing investor interest before kicking off the official raise, which is set to take place this week, subject to market conditions and the M&A deal being finalised.
