I always thought it was for Novavax because the government has ordered 51 million doses. Even if it doesn’t need them I think they are committed to buy and will probably end up donating most to our neighbours.
The government has ordered 15 million Moderna doses for next year which can be easily sourced from overseas.
Novavax should see several approvals soon including from UK, EU, Canada and Australia. IDT is perfectly poised to produce once it’s approved here if they can reach an agreement. Even if it’s only for fill and finish I’m sure the revenue would have to be a few dollars per dose.
That will bring in some handy cash for IDT in 2022 while the MIPS trials are underway.
