Yep, it is exactly the right play by the company. Dump the threat just before Christmas so they can think it over during those long dark days of winter that are coming. That way, '22 will be about the conversation on a mining license.
If not, they will have a very bad '22 indeed. If a court case goes forward, just think of the publicity that will generate, mostly negative, and they know it. But there is little point in GGG just talking much further if these nutjobs are just implacably opposed but they will doubtless tread carefully until all the options are exhausted. They have already said they will be returning the Ur to a tailings pit. In other words, they have already dealt with the second option offered by GoG and that has gone into the White Paper.
