It gives them plenty of time which (I am hoping) may make a rights issue more likely. That would be my preference as it is more equitable. SPPs are quicker but they're a blunt instrument.
No Xmas present? I have to disagree with that. We have known for many months that a CR was coming. It was only a question of when. Having it done should free the SP from that overhanging cloud. I'm glad it's happening now and will be even happier once it's done and dusted.
