As a longer term holder it was frustrating to see the share price rise so strongly to over 30cents purely on the basis of one guy buying shares at 5 cents. This stock price movement was an aberration in what has otherwise been a slow grind by RNT to develop a business that's relevant and financially self-sustaining. They're not quite there yet but personally I think that 2022 will be the make or break year with RentPay.

On the positive side, the flagrant spending and losses were stopped by the current CEO and overall the capital raising have not been anywhere near as bad as many other small caps. The number of shares on issue is not that large. Aside from the investment in Rentpay, the original core business is more or less at cash breakeven so that's positive too.

It's disappointing to see a cap raise but not unexpected and as someone suggested above, perhaps it's a chance for more sophisticated investors to get on board at level where it sat for many years. Hopefully there's also a good logical reason for the raise. We'll see.

This will never be a Realestate.com.au type of stock but if they can get traction with Rentpay and perhaps a few more initiative then there's definitely potential for RNT to become a profitable business with lots of valuable renter data.
