I'm with you Asimpletonne: it makes sense only under certain conditions. And we will find out within a couple of days if the acquisition meets those conditions (ideally earnings accretive OR capacity growth OR proprietary products that push higher margins — which is a riskier play and hasn't worked historically but if done well, can step change the business). But what is clear here is that the current management team are planning long term. They envisage a business of a significantly greater scale than where the business is today ($150-250M+ turnover). In the long run, I think this will drive a very, very strong share price relative to current levels ($40M MC). Most of the woes of the current share price will be solved once VC & Bergen are off the register (trust me), and this may provide an opportunity to block trade Bergen out and flush out VC.
