A clear Labor majority might just do the trick. I am sure both majors see nuclear as the only alternative to the CO2 issue, however, they just want to play 'pass the parcel' and hope they lose.
The absolute crusher for the Greens is, electric cars on the Australian mainland only ADD to the CO2 problem. Over half of all our electricity comes from fossil fuels, the majority coal power. Electricity generated with coal is far dirtier than gas and far far dirtier than nuclear, Forget solar and wind - they MUST have baseload and batteries just will not cut it, power capacity, economic life, before we get to grid management problems. Tasmania is the clear exception, with 98%+ from hydro that is the best. But wonder of f**gking wonders, the whackos now want to drain Lake Pedder, a major source of hydro.
