Uranium player Bannerman Energy is following its rivals to capital markets, launching a $40 million raising on Wednesday morning.

Stockbrokers Canaccord Genuity and Euroz Hartleys were seeking buyers for new shares 22¢ each, which was a 17 per cent discount to the last close.

The deal was structured as a $35 million placement, with the ability to take up to another $5 million.

There would also be a share purchase plan to raise as much as $5 million.

Funds raised would be used to complete its Etango-8 definitive feasibility study and front end engineering and design, the term sheet sent to potential investors said.

The brokers were calling for bids by 4pm Wednesday.

It comes as uranium juniors across the market capitalise on renewed investor interest in the energy sector, and top up their cash balances.

Other uranium stocks to raise in the past month include Vimy Resources, Aura and Boss Energy.
