From my 20+ years experience in markets, bidding wars can lure suitors into paying overs for prized assets (similar to prized real estate). Thus I expect at least 3-4 more bids and a final price closer to $6-$6.30. They know full well that eventually the purchase will pay dividends, outweighing the pain of coughing up more than they'd like, and without a doubt the pain of seeing such an asset in a competitor's hands.
