According to AFR: Listed online bookmaker Betmakers is in a trading halt ahead of an announcement over a material agreement. Reports in the News Corp-owned Wall Street Journal suggest News Corp is planning to enter the Australian sports betting market via a partnership with Matt Tripp’s ASX-listed bookmakers BetMakers. BetMakers is in a trading halt this morning. News Corp has already launched FOX Bet in the growing US sports betting market and is known to want to enter the Australian market.
