I would not be surprised if the partnership was something well advanced in discussions but contingent on the partnership progressing from discussions was results being received so the parties can complete due diligence.
Assuming results came in when trading was paused and then halted, then my understanding of continuous disclosure would be that the company cannot trade until those results are released to the market which it has not, so no advantage to any one entity to buy on market with insider knowledge.
Timing seems right that results will be released at same time as partnership announcement.
