Nah...but what about the other party. Or the other parties contacts. Or friend of friends of the other parties.
You do know what trading halts are for right?...to manage a release to market so tradingnig in equities is fair...it is not to stop the release.
I guarantee people will find out earlier than the release regardless how tight lips are. But they now won't gain a trading advantage over all other market participants.
Better safe than sorry.
If we all find out today or tomorrow who it is through secret squirrels and chinese whispers and reporters will the market be more or less informed on Tuesday after the actual announcement drops to all?
