I think it would because it would be the difference between the chip being viable in any way or the chip being cleverly arranged dust. It would not be the same magnitude as a successful test overall, but I would probably want to point it out if I were trying to build excitement for a sale. Converting 'a high chance' to 'a proven success' would probably be important enough to announce and significant enough to be price sensitive.

That said, there are many alternative announcements that are possible; this is merely to evaluate whether this announcement would be price sensitive.
