I have a sinking feeling it's the first scenario. If everything is fine, why announce anything ahead of the 'end of October' timeframe?
I've been holding 4DS for 5 years and I'm getting used to reading their tea leaves. Two weeks since the last announcement is too early to call a success, but it's on the money for dead on arrival, allowing a few days for crisis management and comms.
I don't know anything about anything so I hope I'm wrong, but 'out of the blue' trading halts have rarely been good news for 4DS holders.
