3 possible explanations :

N°1 : The chips doesn't work and have to be sent back to Imec. A litigation will ensue.

It would be the second desaster in a row. Probably the end of 4DS
... And a total failure for the new board.

The question then is : why shoot yourself in the head now, when you have two and half months to try to save something ?

N°2 : The chips works but performances are not yet avaible .

But then why a price sensitive TH ?
They just said (August 4) that testing has commenced and results will be released before end of october.

The prelimary final report will be published at the end of August.
It would have been a good opportunity to update shareholders without a TH.

N°3 : The chip works beyond expectations.

If it is the case, either they are starting to unveil the potential of the tech ;
Or
They are forced to start unveiling because there were leaks at Imec.

(Fake Imec rumor...A spy with the strange code name "saucy boy" has been caught hand in the bag)

And that third possibility has consequences as it immediatly transform 4DS from an invisible research company into an interesting company. ...A target.

What 8tey and I were discussing was all about this third hypothesis.

Disclosing important informations to the market will have consequences.

We are not talking about precise metrics. Just the real potential, with Imec stamp on it.

In my opinion, if it is N°3, we will enter in a completly different space.
And all we learned about 4DS along the years will cease to apply.

The first task of the board will be to keep the company under their control (imo).

But, to be honest, this new update could simply be a way to make noise and pump the SP.

If ASX is happy with that, why not ?

I am going with no.2 Brab. The reason it will be price sensitive is because every shareholder wants to know if the etch problem has been fixed. If that is the case there will be quiet a jump in the share price as the metrics are known to be good, how good we don't know! We are only in a TH because it's a joint announcment between two different parties.
