Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on how these sort of things play out?
I assume this would be material, given the trading halt. I can't remember seeing any other correspondence in respect of this.
From austlii, contraventions of the CA section referenced, 708A(5), are discussed in 708A(9): -------------------- "Obligation to correct defective notice
(9) The body contravenes this subsection if:
(a) the notice given under subsection (5) is defective; and
(b) the body becomes aware of the defect in the notice within 12 months after the relevant securities are issued; and
(c) the body does not, within a reasonable time after becoming aware of the defect, give the relevant market operator a notice that sets out the information necessary to correct the defect."
-------------------- Under schedule 3 down in the basement of the CA, the suggested penalty could be up to a maximum of 2 years imprisonment in respect of a contravention.
