I do not like the idea of NDIS. To me it adds a lot of cost and complexity that, while nobly intended, will eventually, and sooner rather than later, need to be wound back. A lot of money has already been sunk into this abyss, and getting the likes of NIB involved may assist to curtail the fraud and roting that is reported anecdotally. My observation is that a lot of able-bodied people are going shopping with or out to lunch with people with some level of impairment, whether it be obesity, injury or birth defect. By the look of the lunches the feedback into obesity is quite predictable.
In the past this disability support was done by charitable bodies but many of them are now agents for the government to dispense tax revenues with a plausible-sounding organization involved to convey an impression of probity and goodwill. And the activity all counts as GDP, even though nothing is produced that can generate a lasting benefit.
I do not know whether Plan Management will be profitable , though I do have great respect for NIB's ability to oorganise and manage something like this.
So the main questionfor me is "will the proposed investment be repaid in additional profits before the NDIS is abandoned?"
