These things rarely get wound back in walfare states. These things only seem to creep forward. Trouble is it is obviously not being budgeted for properly yet. But there will be room for efficiency gains, and scale benefits over time hopefully.
Look at how profitable it is ATM. There is plenty of margin there for efficiencies to go back to the gov and still improve profits. $770 EBITDA per participant ATM. The economic gains can be similar to providing childcare or aged care, as there are many partners and parents who cannot work. So if this industry can provide net economic benefits at some stage compared with prior to NDIS, hopefully through economies of scale and infrastructure it will be a winner on cost to benefit. Even better if there are some NDIS recipients who end up back in the workforce. There are taxes raised on profits and economic activity in the sector.
Hopefully we end up with a national net cost that is acceptable, and don't end up with a sucker government at some stage that feels that we should accept refugees with disabilities, and that we have hard headed bean counters in charge catching the rorters.

I feel very lucky my family hasn't been touched by disability.
