You are so right that the Capex TH is absolutely no excuse for a last minute withdrawal from presenting to your local business community. The increase in Capex will have been known to the company for quite some time now and is not something that has just materialised.

I certainly hope there is a good reason for this no show and that our business reputation is salvageable. I suspect that only new company leadership and new company name will allow this though....
