I think it should be mentioned that at the last AUZ capital raise there was a very strong capital market downturn. That in my opinion greatly affected the final outcome.
To ignore that in my opinion is ignorance and single sided.
I can't predict this one but if what Nolan said is correct about 5.9 cents and 1/2 an option this is something I would go for.
For example, I have just participated in a capital raise in another speculative share I am invested in. Discount price was 3 cents and free options. If I wanted I could make profits immediately and still have the free options. However as usual, I will be waiting for the dividends regardless of how long it takes.
If you and red overinvested in a speculative share such as AUZ you both need to take some responsibility. That is what adults do. I don't know your circumstances and don't need to but if you both had diversified as recommended by the scholars then maybe you could let go easier?
Stress is not good and I hope you both recover.
