The goal is to maintain exec salary. AB has the perfect formula. Get paid a lot, do very little, wait until the coffers run dry, spin some sugar then dilute shares to raise more money, repeat. It's a proven strategy - until there's nothing left...
So now there it almost nothing left. Face it, it's a sinking ship and Alice doesn't have the resources to do anything except pay AB every last cent.
