They have likely just settled on the final accounts for the half and realised that they have significantly missed guidance. As soon as they know this their obligation is to let the market know. So to avoid having to talk to investors twice (downgrade today then actualy accounts next week) they have decided to enter a halt and just talk about it when they publish results next week. In reality it also gives them more time to craft a message which they will likely require.
