Certainly a good strategy for anyone in that situation. From what I saw happening in 2016 when the copper price dropped to $1.90 and and the company wasn't making enough profit to fund the cut back of the giant pit, all the big instos dumped their shares and knocked the price down to 2.8 cents. That was followed at the end of the year by a big CR at 3c which was closely followed by a dividend of 1.5c fully franked.
Maybe not too many big holders under water.
