I work in O&G and my current project (250m TIC) has blown out by millions. Root cause is market forces - nickel for duplex material has skyrocketed and Covid has screwed up valve factories and supply chains for everything.

Add inflation.

I wont get into schedules as they are also ALWAYS pie in the sky crap from accountants and corporate, never ever ever realistic.

Don't be surprised if there's a cost/schedule blowout for Walyering, but it will get done.
