Even if somebody just walked in with their resignation letter they'd still need to serve out their notice period so it wouldn't be announced at the time. From memory when Fuller moved on, that only got announced as he was leaving despite a notice period of 3 months (if I'm not mistaken). So whatever this is has been in the works.
