RAC have surely been privy to JC's intentions for some time, and you would hope have been involved in actively managing the sell out of any of his shares if that's his intention - even BG had an offer for his shares I believe, it's just it wasn't taken up for whatever reason.
You'd also have to think that JC if he is leaving, will be doing so under good circumstances.
I reckon the deal has just been agreed therefore the trading halt.
All this assuming JC is actually leaving - could be something completely different for all we know..
