If it's price sensitive to NWE, then they can't just sit on news as they risk upsetting the ASX. It may not be exceptionally price sensitive to MIN given their market cap, but if it's price sensitive to NWE that can't be held back. This might well be something as simple as ASX reminding NWE of their obligations as something that may not be material to MIN might be material to NWE. Apples and Oranges if you will.

I guess nothing is off the table when it comes to the suits at MIN, but upsetting the ASX wouldn't be in their best interests either.
