I don't think we should take too much praise for intervening with ASIC and ASX.

A 'here is my homework, teacher', type of announcement of routine progress would not have required the somewhat panicky phone conversation asking for a pause in trading, before getting together the justification for a trading halt.

Something happened at the drill site, and NWE (even as MIN appointees) would not dare let the discovery of gas leak to the media before a trading halt was put in place.

So I am optimistic there is gas.
