I see three ways this will go:
1. As one poster opined...a farmout. But why would a prospective farminee farm into a Service Contract that expires in 8 months time. Not enough time to get things going to convince the DOE to extend the contract (contract = SC6B).
2. Selling out to Matahio Energy (ex Tamarind turds). Here again .... why would Matahio do that if the SC expires in 8 months time. Better for them to wait for SGC to lose the contract and then renominate next year and get another few years' life. And get it for free.
3. They booked a drilling rig contract for the EWT before the end of the year. Now....where did they get the money for that? And why would anyone fund it with months left to go?
For any of the above to happen positively, in my opinion, they have someone at the Philippines DOE willing to "fix" things for them so that the contract does not expire. But I am certain, this is not without legal and political risks to whoever they are using for this "access".
Trading Halts are not necessarily a sign of good news.
Regardless....one more day to go and we will know what the fuss is all about.
