majority of brokers don't allow you to bid until prior to ann release when stuck in a trading hault... commsec and nab, cmc markets wont allow to place a bid at present... when you receive the announcement you will then be able to bid prior to open... my serious hate with the ASX, most of the time they give you 10minutes to absorb the news and make rash decisions whether as to sell, buy or hold... IMO this needs to change... there should be at least a hour after the announcement before it trades... hence why so many mum and dad traders get caught out if it is bad news... imagine youre at work and you cant even get to read the announcement in the small window they give you... this game is seriously not for the faint of heart..

ASX rules have needed to change for along time IMO, they favor the traders, not the retail holders...
