All of that said, you would be p***** if you were sitting on a loss position and were intending on selling some Gln stock before June 30 but hadnt got around to it yet ( this author haveing been guilty of doing this at the last minute on other stocks in prior years) to crystallise those losses to offset other gains and now you have been effectively halted from executing this trade and hence you have missed this opportunity now for good. This is why trading halts shouldnt be requested lightly or willy nilly by companies as you are actually interfering with a person right ( albeit temporarily) to deal with their own property in a way that suits their own financial goals, and paying the ATO needlessly if it can be avoided is one of those rights that as Kerry famously said when he was alive, we all have a very legitimate right to do so.
