When I visited the Wickepin site on 20/07/2023, I was surprised at the level of cybernated controls and the cleanliness of the operation. In relation thereto, I stumbled on this today – https://www.industryupdate.com.au/a...rolled-automation-help-new-kaolin-plant-scale.
When WAK produces 400,000 tonnes a year, it expects to employ 60 people. EICL in India produces 300,000 tonnes a year, and employs a thousand people. In 1992 Georgia, USA, produced 7.6 million tons (about 6.9 million tonnes a year) of kaolin and employed 4,400 people. Obviously, there is much more to these comparison that would reduce this productivity gap, but WAK being a new business with more modern technology is likely to retain its productivity edge expressed as net profit before tax relative to revenue. IMO.
I was actually looking for information on transport volumes, but I did not find anything novel.
