Usually you find advisors will recommend that a company does a cap raise prior to any major speculative event (eg results) in the event things don't work out, so as to ensure they can definitely get capital (even if it's not needed immediately). I've seen this with many stocks I hold, especially recently due to the negative conditions in financial markets, and all have gone on to report good results.
