By calling a trading halt you are drawing added attention to yourself. Why would you do that to release negative results, you would just release the results with minimal fuss without the halt.
If you are aware of a leak of negative results then of course you would be forced to call a trading halt to stem the flow and to be seen as doing the right thing by the ASX.
My bet is still leaning towards results being more positive than negative.
