I envisage they can start stripping the west to quickly get down to a pay level to get some spod in the sluice box and as this is happening strip the east overburden then be able to get it so there is a pay level across the whole pit and go full throttle. The pit will be shallower to the west and deep to the east with a steep east wall, somewhat like a swimming pool.
