I love that movie and I love that scene. Notice the lighting on Bud's face, both before and after he compromised himself. "You got me". It was at that point he made the deal with the devil.
But what I really love about that movie is how much our ethics have changed. Greed and insiders have pushed the Overton window so far, that what was an egregious breach of ethics in 1987, is for for the course in Subiaco, Bond Street, Collins Street, and a myriad of board rooms across Australia. Nowadays, most people give ZFs.
