Thanks for the explanation I was aware of that being an advantage of ionic clays over hard rock but never really locked into the explanation.
I seem to remember reading that with ionic absorption clays that radionuclides where either to small or too heavy to be captured (I can't remember) and this was the reason they are present in smaller quantities usually? Is that correct or is my mind making that up?
