We know that we drilled to at least 2987m, which based on the MK2 drill schematic puts us right at the bottom of the Upper Angwa. From Scott's comments in the JRI webinar, our seismic interpretation came within 2m for horizon depths so we could probably take the depths from the schematic as accurate. By all accounts the bottom of the Upper Angwa is the sweet spot and 2987m depth may be the easiest spot to retrieve a sample.




It may be possible that we starting seeing some issues towards the bottom of the Upper Angwa and instead of drilling through and risking overpressure again we've pulled out of hole early and gone with a intermediate logging run. I think the wording of intermediate is key here as Scott has previously said logging will only be done once drilling is complete. Maybe they got spooked that the overpressure was going to cause issues again and played it safe.

You could even wonder if this was the original plan all along to do an intermediate logging run but the company didn't say it as failure to capture samples on an intermediate run would cause everyone to panic.
