Definitely a brainwashing tool. All government related statistics are. Designed to make some in society feel isolated and out of place and pressuring them to follow the ‘norm’. Remember when they said 95% of the population was vaccinated with the covid vax. You just had to talk with friends and family and realise a lot of people still hadn’t had it. When you combine that with many religious groups and migrants that are against any vaccination due to their beliefs, there’s no way it was 95%. Probably sat between 70-80%. It was a good tool to coerce and pressure the public though.
