„The European Parliament adopted the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) by a large majority in its plenary session on Tuesday, December 13, 2023.
549 MEPs voted in favor of the new regulation, 24 abstained and 43 voted against it.
The EU member states still have to approve the new raw materials regulation before it can be finally adopted, but this is considered a formality, as is the recent approval by Parliament.
The law, the final text of which was negotiated in trilogue talks between representatives of the two EU institutions in November, can then enter into force following its publication in the EU Official Journal.“
