Broadly, I think HCH is well positioned for what is expected for the copper cycle. Whether they will be successful in their strategy; whether they will find economic ore in these new tenements; and how much of the future value of the project current shareholders see is another matter. The joys of speculating in mining explorers.

Not that I am expecting the Costa Fuego project to end up in the same position but I can't help but see some parallels with QPM. They were planning to build a nickel literate processing plant in Townsville to produce battery grade nickel matte. They had the ore supply secured. They had the offtake agreements with Korean battery manufacturers. They went to the local gas supplier to secure a long term contract and the gas supplier (Arrow energy) said they didn't really want their Bowen Basin gas project and Townsville pipeline anymore and handed over the entire business for free. Fast forward. At the current nickel price and with a $1B capital cost price tag the nickel plant project is now shelved. Now QPM are a gas company!
