My hope is the deal fails.
I tried to buy a commercial property once off a cagey old farmer. We were the tenant. His words were: "If I sell to you, then I have to take that money, pay capital gains tax, and then take the net proceeds, go into the market, and try to find a tenant like you on a property like this. Now, why would I do that?"
We all own shares in a company doing tremendously well, paying down debt, producing fantastic ROC, blowing away EBIT expectations, and bookings well into the future.
Now, why would you sell that?
