Presumably they have more funding lined up from other sources. Also the CR may be oversubscribed.
Yes, directors and management will always be privy to information which isn't in the public domain. This is why the investment of $1m from their own pockets is so important.
People have been harping on about how management should be doing a better job of selling our story to the market. It's one thing to issue fluffy announcements and participate in interviews, etc. Investing $1m of your own money is something completely different. This is not a trivial amount of money. It's not a token investment. This is a serious investment by experts in the field who have inside information. Institutions and sophs will certainly take note.
