From memory the finance terms do not allow early repayment of debt in first few years.
I expect that they need to order this equipment now and thus cannot wait for cash flow to fund this cost. They also do not want to rely on cash flow to fund Kiaka - so, in effect they are being very conservative with their capital management
Overall, it seems a smart use of Capital to raise at these levels, but expect in 12-18 months time they will be sitting on a mountain of cash that they won't be able to use to pay down debt. At which time a new project / acquisition is almost certain
