It's often assumed to be a pump but it's probably more likely that companies just take advantage of a higher sp to get a cr done at that time rather than wait until they need to do it and risk the sp correcting ahead of it. That risk increases when shareholders know cash is getting low and sell in anticipation of a cr. I see it as smart to do it earlier if it's into a lot of strength. Some will argue it should have been allowed to go higher but there was no guarantee of it continuing higher.
