Very disappointing news. I have religiously been flying REX for 3 years now - their service and offering has been far better than the competition, with free check in luggage and great food.

Unfortunately, Aussies are usually full of shit when it comes to supporting local: they complain about Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin, and how we need more competition, but they still end up focusing on the cheapest hooker on the street corner (Jetstar) without wanting to spend the extra $50-100 on Rex.

Aussies deserve a Qantas monopoly and a country filled with Chinese-made goods, because we are too stupid and self-centred to see beyond the savings.
