even if they do swallow martable, why not strengthen the balance sheet? capital raising through a share issue is usually bad news, unless the shares are trading pretty high, then it can be easily earning accretive.... look at csl, raised at $37 and over subscribed. Barometer will be how over subscribed and at how much of a discount...........
